I decided this a while ago but I haven’t taken the time to talk about it and it’s time. Time to become a healthier version of myself. No more half-hearted attempts at fitness or pretending that not eating all day because I’m “stressed” is okay. This time, it’s different. I’m not aiming for perfection—I’m aiming for progress. And let me tell you, it’s going to be one hell of a ride and I know that, but I’m ready. Ready to turn my life around.
First things first, I’m ditching the word “diet”, I hate it actually. That word is banned from my vocabulary. Instead, I’m embracing the idea of fueling my body with things that make me feel good. That doesn’t mean I’m giving up my favorite foods though—there’s no way! It just means I’ll be a little more mindful about what I’m deciding to snack on. If I want that piece of candy, I’m going to have it, but I’ll pair it with a big glass of water and maybe a side of fruit. That’s balance, baby!
Next up, movement. No more dragging myself to the gym out of guilt or when I don’t even want to go. I’m finding activities that I actually enjoy. Whether it’s dancing in my living room, going for a hike to soak up some sun & nature, or trying out a new yoga class, I’m all about moving my body in ways that make me happy. Exercise shouldn’t be a chore or be draining; it should be a celebration or an outlet.
And let’s not forget about the mental part of this journey. I’m learning every day to be kinder to myself. No more negative self-talk or beating myself up for not being “perfect”. What even is perfect? Lol. Instead, I’m focusing on small victories. Did I drink more water today than yesterday? Win. Did I get up and stretch during that marathon work session? Win. Did I choose sleep over another episode of my latest binge-watch? HUGE win.
This is my journey to becoming a healthier me, and it’s going to be full of ups, downs, and everything in between I know that. But no matter what, I’m doing it my way. There is really no point to this blog post today, I’m just hoping to inspire even one person to join me on this journey. Cheers!
